It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Andrea Montoya, a beloved alumna of St. Francis (Class of 2025). Andrea was a bright and cherished member of our school community, whose warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of students, faculty, and friends alike. Her loss is deeply felt, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her during this difficult time.
Andrea’s time at St. Francis was marked by her dedication, compassion, and unwavering positivity. She embraced her education with curiosity and enthusiasm, always encouraging those around her and lifting others with her generous heart. Whether in classrooms, hallways, or during school events, Andrea’s presence brought joy and inspiration, leaving lasting memories that will endure in the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Andrea’s kindness was not confined to her academic pursuits—she was a true friend and confidante, always ready with a kind word or an encouraging smile. Her ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued is a legacy that will continue to resonate within our community.
In honor of Andrea’s life, the St. Francis community invites everyone to come together in faith and remembrance. A viewing and rosary will be held on Tuesday evening at St. Francis, followed by the Funeral Mass on Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Watsonville, with burial to follow. To allow students, faculty, and staff to participate in the funeral services and support the Montoya family, there will be no school on Wednesday, April 1.
As we mourn Andrea’s passing, we also celebrate the light she brought into our lives. May her memory inspire us to live with the same kindness, joy, and love she shared so freely. Andrea Montoya will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
