It is with the heaviest of hearts that we honor the life and service of John Penley of Orange, a retired firefighter and proud Marine whose passing has left a profound void among his family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters in service.

John dedicated himself to a life of service, first as a member of the United States Marine Corps, where he served with distinction as a Lance Corporal and Body Bearer. In this elite role, he was entrusted with the solemn duty of carrying fallen Marines to their final resting place, an act of honor that reflected his deep respect for those who served before him. His commitment to duty, respect for tradition, and sense of responsibility earned him the trust and admiration of his fellow Marines.

After his honorable military service, John continued to serve his community with the Orange City Fire Department, where he worked from January 7, 2021, until his retirement in 2025.
