Simpsonville, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a suspected homicide-suicide following the discovery of two deceased individuals inside a residence on Appian Circle. Deputies responded to the home on March 24, 2026, after a family member requested a welfare check. Upon arrival, both residents, later identified as 73-year-old Gloria Jean Dobson and 75-year-old Daryl Lynn Dobson, were found dead.
Investigation into the incident revealed that both victims had suffered gunshot wounds. A firearm was discovered near Mr. Dobson’s body, prompting further examination. Autopsies conducted the following day confirmed the identities of the decedents, with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruling Mrs. Dobson’s death a homicide, while Mr. Dobson’s death was determined to be a suicide.
In addition to the couple, two dogs and a bird were also found deceased inside the home, further adding to the tragedy.
As of now, authorities have not released additional details, and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
