 Travelers Rest, SC – The community is mourning the loss of Brian Doyle Medlin, 45, of Travelers Rest, who tragically passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, following a motorcycle crash on Tubbs Mountain Road.

Medlin was riding along the 1200 block of Tubbs Mountain Road when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of his motorcycle, which left the roadway and struck a tree. Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 9:50 p.m., and Brian was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:24 p.m.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Medlin’s death resulted from blunt force trauma and ruled it an accidental death. An external examination has been completed, with additional review pending. Authorities from both the Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Brian was a dedicated member of the Travelers Rest community, remembered by family, friends, and neighbors for his warmth, generosity, and kindness. Those who knew him recall his infectious sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and his passion for motorcycle riding. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, reflecting his responsible and cautious nature, yet his life was tragically cut short.
